HILLARY FOR AMERICA 2016

In the summer of 2016, I left LA and headed to the Brooklyn HQ of Hillary for America to join the design team for the last 100 (non-stop) days of the campaign—to elect what I thought would be our first woman president.

Initially I was hired to work on digital product, but quickly moved to the “States” team; the six members of the States team were responsible for all content, digital and printed, that individual states shared with their constituents through various social channels as well as at in-person events. We’re talking all states, not just battleground. Our work included event marketing, campus initiatives, GOTV (Get Out the Vote) efforts, debate support and general social media.

My main role as a member of States was designing and managing “Big Moment” projects. These were specially branded mini-campaigns built around dates or events on battleground states’ calendars. The moments were things like principal visits, voter registration deadlines or mobilization efforts, debate nights and more. I worked directly with state Digital teams to learn about their needs and audiences, and quickly turn around the campaigns in the necessary timelines.
