CONFETTI CONFIDENTIAL

Confetti Confidential is a five-member collage collective that formed early in 2012; the members are myself, Lucy Cook, Ania Diakoff, Kate Johnston and Julie Moon. We work individually in a collective setting and through the process of cooking, eating, discussing and making, we have created a body of work that represents friendship and intimacy, as well as a dedication to personal expression, material exploration, and artistic discovery. We have participated in several exhibitions and regularly lead workshops in the Los Angeles area.

PAST WORKSHOPS/EXHIBITIONS

So much of our identities and worth are supposed to lie with how much we can produce quickly, for whom, and at what cost. The pause of this group of friends, the negative power to unbecome, using the debris of the nascent outdated post-industrial society: cardboard, magazines, newspapers, copies of copies, remnants, highlights the mysterious urge of the creative to communicate and participate, and puts a visual roadmap on the invisible labor that is required of the artist, the woman, and the designer.

The preceding is an excerpt from Sarah Gottesdiener‘s essay “Confetti Confidential: Alone and Together,” from our self-published catalogue, “Confetti Confidential” — on the occasion of our Human Resources exhibition.
